As we have worked through a number of issues over the past few years, it has become increasingly apparent that our current Constitution is outdated and not aligned with the State body.
To address this, we have drafted a new Constitution, based on the model rules, to give BH clearer guidelines and better governance to drive Badminton Hobart forward into the future.
As your past feedback has helped shape us, we are looking to work together again.
The process to work through our new Constitution is outlined below, as well as how you can be involved in the governance process.
State and National body feedback (updated – Thursday 8th May)
Following consultation with Badminton Australia and Badminton Tasmania, we have now received letters of support from both organisations endorsing the proposed Constitution (see below).
Member and stakeholder review
The draft is linked below for review and we welcome your feedback, either via email to the General Manager, Mark Purcell, via [email protected] or Mark can make time for a meeting to discuss any issues via 0488 788 426 – with all feedback due by 31st May.
We welcome all feedback, concerns or queries and we’ll give you all of the time you need if you come to us directly. We have learnt from the past that discussion on social media isn’t an effective communication channel, but if need be we will be more than happy to organise an open forum where any matters that need wider, group discussion can be undertaken.
Next steps
Once all feedback has been received and considered:
- Feedback received (without any identification of from where the feedback has been received) and our response to the feedback will be posted to this page
- A final draft will be provided in early June ahead of a Special General Meeting on 24th June.
We see all members as an important part of the process and we appreciate any involvement you may choose to have in the process.
