Southern Tasmanian Badminton Association to Badminton Hobart

On March 4^th, 1931, on the back of “rapid progress in Hobart, its suburbs and country districts”, a new constitution was instituted, and the Southern Tasmanian Badminton Association (STBA) was formed. Over these 94 years, badminton has evolved and so has the STBA.

As part of this evolution, we’re changing our name from Southern Tasmanian Badminton Association to Badminton Hobart, making our brand sharper and more recognisable while staying true to our roots.

We’re proud to unveil a refreshed name and identity for our great club — this is a bold new look that reflects our history while paving the way for an exciting future.

Our belief is that in our community, badminton is more than a game; it’s a way to develop individuals, instil values and build connections within the community, and we have worked hard to ensure our brand represents this.

The new Badminton Hobart brand will be rolling out, from our staff uniforms and building signage to digital platforms and community engagement.

A huge thank you to everyone who played a part in bringing this new chapter to life—we can’t wait to share it with you.
